A NOTE ON BRAND

 

My first mission at Carvana was to establish a brand for print and web. Having never done this for web before, I took what was given to me and carefully crafted our pages that leaned heavily on our blue (to instill trust and peace) and gray and white with pops of yellow. These colors and the UI elements mimicked the logo. And we slowly grew into a sense of identity. Looking back, I wish I had defined it and enforced it much more strictly. It would have saved a lot of time and a lot of design debt. But what we had worked, we forged on ahead and that was all we needed.

REDEFINING

 

When our creative director came on board, we started to define the brand further. We created mood boards and designs individually and then came together as a team to present the ideas. Here are some of my contributions.
